The accredited Graduate Certificate (GC) in Indigenous Governance is the shorter version of our Master's Degree, requiring twelve (12) credits of course work to be completed within two years. GC credits are offered during the January in Tucson sessions with an option to earn credits through a self-initiated Capstone Project.
We are currently not accepting new students for the 2024/25 academic year, but anyone can register for a January in Tucson 1-credit course!
REQUIRED COURSES:
- Rebuilding Native Nations: An Introduction: LAW 631D (1 credit)
- Comparative Indigenous Governance: LAW 656B (1 credit)
- Indigenous Peoples' Rights Under International Law: LAW 579A (1 credit)
- Comparative Legal Systems and Their Role in Nation Building: LAW 631M (1 credit)
- The Evidence of Indigenous Nation Building: LAW 631K (1 credit) OR
- Capstone Project (with permission, can replace 1-2 credits of required courses)
All courses offered during January In Tucson are eligible credits for the GC.
Cost of Attendance:
The Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Governance costs approximately $21,372, prorated at $1,781 per unit (excluding Mandatory University fees). Funding opportunities are available.
