Justin Boro

Assistant Director, Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program

Justin Boro joined the law school in February 2016. Before joining the University, Justin worked at the National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA). During his time at NICWA he focused on donor relations, increasing awareness of NICWA’s work across Indian Country to promote the well-being of Native children and families, and promoting compliance with the Indian Child Welfare Act. Prior to his service at NICWA, he worked in the Oregon Senate where he helped advocate for the Foster Youth Bill of Rights (SB 123), cultural competency in health care delivery (HB 2611A), and addressing the over representation of minorities within the social services and corrections systems (SB 463B).

Justin earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Portland State University in 2011, where he focused his studies on the effects of development and trade on political institutions and cultures. After graduation, Justin interned with state, federal, and local government offices to help improve the lives of Oregonians. He is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration at the University of Arizona Eller College of Management.
